ACCOMPLISHED MUSIC DIRECTION and Instruction at Your Fingertips...

Julie has done musical direction for local theatres in Raleigh for 15 years, working with Burning Coal Theatre Company, EbzB Productions, Hot Summer Nights at the Kennedy Theatre, Meredith Theatre, North Raleigh Arts and Creative Theatre, Raleigh Little Theatre, Theatre In the Park, Stillwater Theatre, and University Theatre at NCSU. She is currently teaching theatre at Greenville High Academy. Her teaching and personnel skills are highlighted in the collaboration of theatre and music as she directs.

“Julie Florin's musical talents have elevated our major productions. Her outstanding ability to get the very best efforts from our students have made them all want to work with her time and time again! An outside professional is not asked back to participate with us unless they have that special connection...and Julie has that talent in spades! From Shakespeare to Sondheim, she has been an incredible collaborator and asset to our productions.”

John McIlwee, Director of University Theatre

With EbzB Productions, Julie has toured the past 13 years across the country, telling the tale of the people and music behind the war in “War Bonds: the Songs and Letters of WWII”. She joins Serena Ebhardt and David ZumBrunnen on stage as they act and sing this incredibly moving show. Julie directs a small band for many of the shows, often working with local musicians from the towns they visit. In addition, Julie and Serena perform together in “In One Era and Out The Other”, a history of 20th century America told through a patriotic prism. "ERA" is a fast-paced musical cabaret filled with multi-media images from 1901 – 2001.You can find their tour dates at

Julie has had the pleasure and good fortune to work with many of the best local directors and theatre companies. The Events calendar shows the performance dates for upcoming productions. She is indeed lucky to work with such a varied group of companies, which then allows her to work with professional, semi-professional, community theatre, amateur, and child actors and actresses. Also, through these many diverse productions, she works with a large amount of local professional and amateur musicians. She has also written and arranged music for different productions.
